You shall not roll your head around on your shoulders, like a circle but
stretch the neck by tipping your head to the left and right slowly with your
chin pressed in, you can also turn your head to the left and right and also
while doing that tp your head slightly in front of your left and right
shoulder, you shall feel a stretch in the neck muscles. Also stretching your
hands up in the air like picking apples, left, right, left, right and open
and clench your hands while doing that. Remember to keep your chin pressed
in, you will get a nice double chin :-)) but you stretch the muscles in the
neck very good.
I have gotten these instructions from my physiotherapist as I have a lot of
trouble with my neck and shoulders. I can sit for max 30 min at my pillow
then I have to do something else. I make these excercise (and some more)
every morning to wake my neck and shoulders, as long as I do that I am in
less pain from them. Also lift one shoulder at a time pressing up and then
pressing it down again.
I dont know if these exercises are better than the ones you already do but
it is worth a try. I get very stiff if I dont do them.
