I would argue that a three thousand year old spiritual insignia that was adopted for a span of 25 years by anti-Semites has a different order of legitimacy than a gesture invented by a man who told a Jewish reporter, "You should be sent to a gas chamber" being adopted by anti-Semites almost instantaneously.
