There is an article in the trouble shooting area (under the support menu) about black screens in legacy. Have you tried the solutions mentioned there?

installed windows 10. Windows 10 has all the Keys/switches set at Default.

Still with all this I still have a Black Screen in the Notes window
which stops me from taking individuals notes unless I were able to
isolate a font white colour just for the Notes window  This I am not
sure how to achieve.

I am very frustrated because I changed my genealogy software from Family
Tree Maker 14 to Legacy8 Deluxe with the promise of a superior software.
I am sure this is so from what I have experienced except for this one
fault which appears to only be with my software.

Please help
