Because other users of Legacy v8 are not complaining about the same problem
that can't be fixed, I'd say that the problem is not with the Legacy program
but with your computer hardware and/or your settings in Win10.

It could be a million different things and practically impossible to guess
from here but I'd like to start with having you boot into Safe Mode and see
what happens there.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Black Screens on Legacy

Hello Fellow Members

This is John Sandford from New Zealand.

Is anyone able to point me in the direction where I can remove the Black
Screen from the "Notes" window in windows 10 which is a pop up in the family
tab for an individual.

I have explored all the possibilities offered in the Legacy "Home Tab" and
the ancestry help desk.

I have uninstalled Legacy deluxe 8 completely. Uninstall and reinstalled
both Legacy and Windows 10.

I have used the expertise of Reimage at some considerable cost and had IT
engineers who remotely purged my system, updated all drivers, dlls re
installed windows 10. Windows 10 has all the Keys/switches set at Default.

Still with all this I still have a Black Screen in the Notes window which
stops me from taking individuals notes unless I were able to isolate a font
white colour just for the Notes window This I am not sure how to achieve.

I am very frustrated because I changed my genealogy software from Family
Tree Maker 14 to Legacy8 Deluxe with the promise of a superior software. I
am sure this is so from what I have experienced except for this one fault
which appears to only be with my software.

Please help

Regards

John Sandford (Sandy)
