I've read them before. I'm no longer especially interested in arguing
that part of the matter -- I've done so enough times that anyone who
is interested can find it in the archives.
I'm willing to accept that those libertarians who disagree with me on
abortion are still libertarians, even if I think that they are in
error vis a vis the application of principles to facts in this
particular instance.
Most of them, in turn, agree that I am likewise still a libertarian,
even if they think that I am in error vis a vis the application of
principles to facts in this particular instance. This mutual
acknowledgement is possible because we agree, at least in general, on
principles.
As for the wack-jobs to be found on the peripheries of both sides of
the issue, they just bore me, as long as it's Yahoo and not me paying
the cost of bandwidth and storage for their rants. They persuade no
one, they are persuaded by no thing, and their effect within, and on
the public's perception of, the libertarian movement, while negative,
is so negligible as to be of little concern.
