John,
Inherent in the libertarian plan of non-aggression is a great
reduction of harm. The whole idea behind the reduction of big
govt is an increase in health, wealth, and quality-of-life. AFAIK
it has been fairly well established that the facet of big govt
which you often defend, forced/govt redistribution of wealth, is
a force for the quite the opposite: a decrease in health, wealth,
and quality-of-life; to me, that's worse harm. In other words,
wealth redistribution already comes at the expense of millions of
innocent Americans; it is overt, active, direct, flagrant,
non-consensual, violent, initiated aggression. Govt welfare (sans
treaties & other true contracts) is not real charity; it is only
wealth taken from others and a percent "given" to the less
fortunate. The plan you conclude asking about is the free market,
which has historically proven to be vastly superior at solving
the kinds of problems you express concern about.
And your fear of a sudden changeover would also seem unwarranted.

{American jurors have complete Constitutional authority to vote
"not guilty" based on nothing more than a disagreement with the
case, no matter the evidence - despite the judge's instructions.
There is absolutely no obligation to vote "guilty" to arrive at a
unanimous verdict. Get on a jury, stand your ground, and fulfill
its other main purpose: to counteract abusive government and
unjust lawsuits.

Ok, let's simplify, shall we?
How do you change from the present system to the utopia you
endorse without
harming millions of people?
IF you have no plan for that, then you have no plan at all.
It seems the answer I have received so far is to ignore the
suffering caused
by such a changeover, in favor of the 'freedoms' you desire.
Those 'freedoms' would then come at the expense of millions of
innocent
Americans.
If you have no plan, Libertarianism has no hope of succeeding.
