Shlomi, did you see the Seinfeld episode "The Pony"?
If you did, you'd know to be careful not to make fun of pets that people
might have and love, or the consequences can be disasterous ;)
I happen to have a Poodle, and she's a great dog, very loving, cute and
gentle. Did you ever actually meet a Poodle, let alone spent a week with one
before you decided you hate them all?

I guess by being fond of an animal you mean you admire it, not that you'd
like to live with one ;) After all, you don't normally keep a rock hyrax
(shafan sela) at home, and you'd need to be very lucky to even get close to
an ibex (yael), let alone a gibbon... You'd need to be very *un*lucky to
get close to a bear ;) Anyway, you're right - all these animals are cute,
especially when seen in the wild.
About getting close to an ibex: I once tried to catch a sheep to pet it,
and let me tell you - these fat balls of wool run pretty darn fast! :)
