I'm sorry if I offended you. But I simply don't like the way Poodles look
too much.

LOL

That's my point. I don't want to keep one at home. In any case, I'm also
fond of various rodents (rabbits, mice, gerbils, hamsters, yarbo'as (sorry
I don't know their english names), as well as hedgehogs. And the
various kangaroos are also very nice.

I also happen to like many other antelopes or antelope-like creatures
beside ibexes (which I'm not sure if they are antelopes). Gazelles and
Deers are very majestic, IMO.

Any of the animals I mentioned may prove to be a more original choice for
a mascot than a penguin. Despite the fact that I like penguins and tux,
I'm a bit fed off him. Of course, the rest of the world seems to have some
kind of dinosaur-mania, so who is John Galt?

So, it seems.

I placed the Hyrax picture as a background on my KDE virtual workspace 7
(I have too many pictures of women as backgrounds as it is, so an animal
is a nice change).

In any case, knowledge of such animals should come in handy if you're
looking for an original picture to place on a cover of an O'Reilly book
you happen to publish. :-) And I noticed that some of their books feature
humans on the cover. I recall a HelpDex cartoon on that issue.
