if i install linux again same thing happens. again d: is of size 0. i ve
not formatted the linux partition as the 2 partitions are of different
sizes. and after formating d: it shows its size as 3GB which is proper.
dos fdisk shows me 2 extended partitions where drive next to c: is of size
3 GB.
        i am thinking of formatting/partitioning entire hard disk again. 
with 2 primary partitions (4GB c: & 1GB linux) and one extended partition
(3GB d:) but i m afraid if the problem is due to the number of cylinders
as indicated by linux fdisk this wont help.
