I tried BeOS 5.0 Personal Edition both the windows as well as linux versions ( i mean
using the corresponding file systems ) Unfortunately.. i didnt have too smooth an
experience with it. One of the main problems which I face was being unable to
configure the video card properly.. as a result is takes up a lot of system resources.
One more problem and a major one is that an upgrade... and other drivers are available
online... but you cannot go online from BeOS easily... limited hardware support as far
as network cards or modems are concerned. Funny but this has been a problem since the
BeOS 4 days. Other than that what really kicks ass is the fact that it boots up in a
matter of seconds on slowest of pcs. It is easy to install now. But till i get proper
support for it.. i feel it is an unecessary waste of 512 Mb of diskspace. But its
worth giving it a try for kicks lest it works... something new to play around with.

all of the above are personal views and experiences of a fool... so dont pay much heed
to it.
