Hi,

Sorry for this OT post.

BeOS looks to be fast when connected to net too. From here at Goa I get download speed
of 3.2K/s which is around 800kb/1k in linux and windows.

Besides this it also has got vesa support. As a result my card such as SiS6215 can be
started
with vesa support( similar to framebuffer stuff in linux ). I get 1024x768 / 16bpp as
well
as 800x600 / 16bpp. For this I have to press space bar and the Be boot loader so that
the boot
menu comes up and from that I have to select the above resolution and colour depth,
otherwise
the default greyscale server starts up(black and white).

Does any body know how to automate this stuff so that BeOS starts by default in
800x600/16bpp.
In FAQ they have mentioned that you need to change the vesa script in
/boot/home/config/kernel/drivers directory. In which I have put

800 600 16

but that does not seem to be working.

Any help on this. Sorry again for this out of Linux posting.
