Actually, there is nothing in Linux or XFree86 that prevents people from
doing that. Infact, making sure that technologies like KNI get adopted
quickly was the charter of my former group at Intel.

There are tons of math and image libraries at developer.intel.com - they
all need some translators to AT&T (gcc) asm syntax though.
