Looks like something fishy about your name resolver ? Do you have
localhost listed in yout hosts file ? If not try adding it.

Try telnetting to it - This is what I get when I do so

Leafnode fetches messages from the remote servers only based on need. Since
so clients are currently subscribed to any newsgroups, it doesn't fetch any.
Once you get your slrn setup to communicate properly with the leafnode server,
and subscribe to any specific group, fetchnews will start fetching messages
for the group.
