I tried for my pc as telnet lvghomepc 119. I got the following.
[lvgandhi@lvghomepc] ~$ telnet lvghomepc 119
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to lvghomepc.visakha (127.0.0.1).
Escape character is '^]'.
As you can see I didn't get the last line. It hangs after that. Even
quit didn't work. even ctrl+c also didn't work. Is localhost is a must
for leafnode. My hosts file has lvghomepc.visakha for 127.0.0.1. I have
commented out localhost entry given by install for avoiding confusion.

I think in the first instance of fetchnews, it should bring the list of
newsgroups. Then only with slrn or any other news reader, we can
subscribe to that particular newsgroups thro' leafnode as it is the
local nntp server. Am I wrong in my understanding?
