safer to put back localhost at 127.0.0.1 give lvghomepc.visakha a
192.168.x.x number and put this same number in leafnode.conf

no, you are correct (assuming that slrn is a newsreader, I use tin). Use
fetchnews with a -v switch for debug info. Also check if it's the same
fetchnews that came with leafnode. There is another fetchnews package.
