But I would suggest you some thing. You can go for some web based module for your accounting work and you can even customize them as per your needs.

Because using some thing via telnet is cumbersome. Hopefully you are
agreeing with my statement.

I completely disagree. Using telnet or preferably ssh - anything console based in fact - is far faster than you think.

It is definitely faster than a web based application, and also much easier to secure.

Case in point - try to book an air ticket on expedia.com (or maybe thomascook.co.in) sometime, and then go to your local travel agent and see how they use Galileo or Saber (both mainframe hosted apps that travel agents access using a console based app) to select flights, book you a seat and print out your ticket far faster than you could do it using a travel agent's website.

If you think web based application is a good idea, I would suggest you
to use PHP+MySql+Apache............. the fastest combination. But I know

It is a bad idea to rip out an existing, functional system in production and replace it with a cuter looking, but far slower and more processor intensive option.

some one pointed some bugs in PHP one or two years back..... I think

Two years? Please do yourself a very big favor, and track security releases a bit better than you do, especially if you are going to admin any of the softwares that you advocate, and especially if you are going to admin them for Intel.
