Hi Andrew,

Yes, becouse Windows is a copyrighted professional OS, so part of the codes
are completely proprietary. U can criticize that, but it's a Microsoft
choice. They spent lots of money to have the better code in this world, so
obviously they not wanna share it without the acknoledgement.

Right, but I think, for the final user, FIRST THING is having basic things -
like point the phone - working FIRST TIME. How can a well trained person
like myself - and like many others like me - have to spent lots of time to
make a phone against a SLOW IrDA stack working???

Thats the big problem of Linux, and thats the reason becouse it can't be
popular and professionaly considered in other IT sectors other than LAN
servers.

The real cool thing of Linux is TCP/IP, other than that have lots lots lots
of problems, first of all IRQ sharing and resource sharing. New kernels fix
things and broke others.

I'm interested in Linux especially BECOUSE IS FREE, so I NOT PAY for it and
I can accept to lost lots of time play with it: it's my choice. Now I know
Linux it well, so I spend less time than others...

But, well, when I have to do serious job and not only surf the net or
impress my girlfriend or friends :-))))), I need a REAL OS and Windows
NT/2000/XP do the job. Obviously I pay for it, and I have the best.

Regards

Massimo
