I respect your opinion, but the cool thing of Linux for me, and lots of
people, is that it is UNIX, and UNIX has proved to be well designed, and a
joy to use to those who appreciate it (no, I am not talking Joe Random
Desktop User).

Again, this is your choice, but consider that this reason is not why it is
developed. So, if you complain to developers, remember that they are not
writing it to make available a non-payed operating system. Anyone of them
may have its reasons, but I can garantee that price is not the main
motive.

If your serious job does not require a real operating system (like UNIX),
thats fine. The concept of real operating system is vague (if your doing
video processing, MacOS may be a real operating system, and UNIX a joke,
but if you are talking about serving, MacOS may be a joke (not considering
MacOS X, of course). So please dont try to categorize like that. If you
like MS OSes, thats fine, but dont call Linux "amateur". Although it is
many times "amateur" (from "love") it is considered professional by many
people/companies (like IBM, Microsoft, SGI, etc).
