I've been considering the Foodsaver for quite awhile but its size and storage have presented a problem to me. By chance would you remember the battery driven model? Sounds interesting and a good idea for space saving onboard. Yeah, I know what you mean, when I go to BJ's I can never get out of there without spending $200.00 on stuff! One was Foodsaver and the other was bags with a handheld battery-driven pump. There are also one-time use closures that you stick onto a cereal box, etc. These too tested as excellent. Ziploc and another brand were third. I think that they were third because they didn't say that they tried to expel all the air while closing. Crystals former inside these bags after being in a freezer awhile. I bought the mag at Costco while buying too much food.
