So, an EQ in a separate tab. There's still problems there... For instance: what point in the chain would the EQ be in? Would it be before the rest of the FX chain or after it? What if you need it the other way around? If you have to enable the EQ anyway, what possible advantage can there be against just adding an EQ to the effect chain? This entire idea doesn't really make sense to me. Why EQ? What makes EQ so special? Why not limiters? I use limiters on almost every channel, slightly more often than I use EQs... what about reverbs? Those are also used very often. Why is one effect so special it should be fixed to every channel/instrument? I think rather than use fixed effects, we should strive to improve the usability and functionality of effects in general. Maybe enable inline GUIs for some native effects, so you could tweak the parameters right from the FX rack. That's after all how most FX racks operate (both in the software and hardware worlds). Also, we could enable saving FX chains as presets. There could be a drop-down button next to the "add effect" button, that would contain your favorite FX chain presets and allow you to quickly add your favorite FX combination. This would benefit both power users and beginners (we could provide some nice premade combos as factory presets). I'm just saying, when considering new features, it's almost always better to think of the long run - not just what makes things "easier for beginners" but what makes things easier and more fluid when those beginners stop being beginners... shortcuts and power tools, instead of hand-holding. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Meet PCI DSS 3.0 Compliance Requirements with EventLog Analyzer Achieve PCI DSS 3.0 Compliant Status with Out-of-the-box PCI DSS Reports Are you Audit-Ready for PCI DSS 3.0 Compliance?
