Hi there, welcome to the start of another week of Levy Letters. Thanks for
joining me. On tonight's programme, as a planning application is submitted
today for one of the biggest offshore wind farms in the country, we'll have a
special report looking at this planned development near Spurn Point.

Also, as motorists struggle with the rising cost of petrol prices, spare a
thought for our region's boat owners as they face a double in price on the duty
they pay for their red diesel. We'll take a look at what this will mean not
only for boat owners, but for the marinas in our region.

And after her appearance on America's biggest chat show, we'll welcome 102 year
old Nora Hardwick from Ancaster back to the country. She’ll be a dab hand at
this now. I’ll be chatting with her tonight on the show about her experiences
in LA.

Dot Com

Do you sometimes feel like you’re missing a trick? An American has made his
fortune in the easiest way possible. He’s just sold the web address,
‘pizza.com’ for a whopping £1.3 million! He’s paid out just $20 a year since
1994 to keep the site up and running and has just accepted that bid after a
week-long online auction for the site. He got the idea to sell it after hearing
that the web address ‘vodka.com’ sold for $3 million in 2006.

On A Theme

>From dot com to superfast broadband! The Internet as we know it could soon be
>obsolete. Wasn’t I saying only the other day how fast technology is changing?
>Scientists have built a better version of the Internet that’s ten thousand
>times faster than our normal broadband connection. It can download entire
>feature films within seconds! And it’s getting more sci-fi by the minute.
>Think back to Star Trek – this lightning fast broadband could be capable of
>transmitting holographic images. If this is the case, do you think more and
>more of us will work from home and just transmit our holographic self to our
>desk? I fancy that!

Spring

Now that Spring has sprung, keep your photos coming in. I know the weekend’s
weather perhaps doesn’t epitomise Spring, but we’d love to see some of your
photos that say ‘Springtime’. There have been some great snowman pictures sent
in, so thanks for those. I’d love to hear from you this week, so email me
direct on [EMAIL PROTECTED] So many of our stories come from you. So if there’s
a story that you think we should know about or an issue that you think we
should look into, then get in touch.

Take care,

Peter
