Hello there and welcome to Tuesdays edition of the Levy Letter. I hope it finds you well. I must say I still dont think that I am going to get used to this wintery weather. I hope youve not been caught out by it and remember to carry your gloves with you!
RIP Batman? Now are you a fan of Batman? Ive reading today that the latest issue of the comic entitled Batman RIP will see the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman, the Scottish writer Grant Morrison has revealed to readers. His fate will be revealed when the comic is published on the 26th November. There are various rumours going around suggesting that Bruce Wayne may retire or get killed by a mysterious villain. It is not known who will become the new Batman but frontrunners include Tim Drake who has been Robin since 1991 and Dick Grayson who protects Gotham City as Nightwing. I never thought comic book superheroes would ever die but it turns out that other superheroes have had unfortunate endings in the comic world. In 2007 Captain America was killed after being shot by a sniper in New York and in 1992 the death of Superman became the biggest selling Superman comic in history. He was however resurrected. Well there you go. It turns out that even superheroes are not immortal. Happy rea! ding! Car Crash Telly Im not sure what you think to reality TV shows, but if you find yourself sitting down to celebrities in jungles or dancing and cant understand why, you may like to know that you are in the same position as Sir Paul McCartney. He has said that I think there is too much of it, really. I just think its a bit weird myself. So Im not keen on it. But I watch it like everybody. He admits that they are compulsive viewing but so is a traffic accident. Well there you have it; it seems that even celebrities are not immune to keeping up with the latest goings on in the jungle. Cash for Names What do you think to this one? Ive been reading today that a far right Italian party is offering 1,500 Euros to parents who name their children after the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini or his wife. The small Movimento Sociale-Fiamma Tricolore (MS-FT) party denies its gesture is racist and says the names Benito and Rachele are merely "nice". The cash incentive is available in five areas of southern Italy and is aimed at helping the regions low birth rate. However the names Benito and Rachele signify one thing to Italians, the former dictator and his wife. The party have said the choice of names is purely casual and there arent any fascist or racist undertones, although they do insist at least one of the parents is Italian.
