No, it hasn't been ruled out. I think that the 'LDAP, auth...' should include PAM and other things. Scenario 1 listed above is just a matter of fact "if there are only two exams available and you need two to get an LPIC-3 certification...". That will definitely change once we develop the other exams. Luckily we have some time for discussion on this. The first two exams should be ready for the end of the year. By that time, we'll have a more thought out proposal on the future of the LPIC programme. For now, it's 'authentication' and 'file/print' exams.
