Even worse is the fact that the Guild had actually been negotiating with the 
administration for 2 weeks but the administration had dug its heels in and 
refused to consider any concessions. There is a report of the VC actually 
storming out of a meeting and telling the Guild people that he could take 
whatever the students decide to dish out. 

Such attitudes I believe were the primary cause of this riot. But seriously 
this is getting OT so I am moving any further discussion to appropriate fora 
e.g. [EMAIL PROTECTED]
