Ernest, the last people you should ever side with are the Makerere University academicians. Of course they have a reason for doing it but even the manner they handle the situation is so insensitive. Where in the world does a leader just wake up and announce a 3000% hike in a fee without preparing the recepients for the change? Have these professors ever internalised the management theories they study? I believe they are just cold, insensitive, non innovative and socially challenged beings. The few people that have always tried to introduce new styles of management in that institution have been witch hunted. Look at Prof. Balunywa of MUBS and Dr. Baryamureeba of Computer Science, these guys are outcasts because of their innovativeness and pro people management approaches. Its so sad to be taught by such sick people.
