Mike, who pulled out? No one as far as I know.
I imagine everyone runs cacti or mrtg or whatever to monitor their stats
on the IX. Isn't that enough for those who need to convince management?
one thing is for sure, if the IX remains in the state it is in, many
more will pull out. its not yet a matter of congestion at the IX.
currently, i believe, there are a few guys peering there, MTN, UTL,
one2net, Infocom, African Online. the rest....i dont know if they were
ever there or if they pulled out. i do not think that five guys at the
IX can congest it...unless the routing being done there is horrible.
I am sure Mark was referring to the congestion on the individual pipes
each peer has to the IX, not congestion at the IX itself.
Some peers have very measly pipes which often get saturated.
