Very good point about the 'usage scenarios' I have several Linux
computers, and apart from nagios netmon, on one of my servers, and
Netscreen security manager on another server, I cant find anything else
to do with Linux so my Linux laptop is gathering dust.

The way i see it, MUK students & people in Uganda in general don't
use Linux because its usage scenarios are very few -- as one of the
many possible reasons.

Linux is an excellent server os, and this is said in all linux
classes. A linux class is not complete without the "Linux Server
Usage" scenario (HTTP, FTP, SSH, DNS, DHCP, Mail, etc).

I wonder how many linux students get to deploy a linux server outside
the class room.

I also wonder how many tech guys in Uganda can say they *personally*
have a server on the internet -- an excellent linux usage scenario.
If it were cheap to put a computer onto the public internet, that
would be big potential for linux deployments.

We need to create many more linux usage scenarios if we want people
to use it. Probably it's the way linux is taught. All linux classes
focus on the server aspect of linux which, unfortunately isn't within
the usage scope of most people *even* those that go to MUK Faculty of
Computing.
