Bob Re connecting in OSX. Occasionally my sympatico ADSL resets itself or somehow gets out of sync. Restarting the computer and unplugging the modem often works, but the odd time, I do this: restarting in OS 9, let the connection be made there as per normal, then restarting in OS X. Why this works, who knows. I suspect if I pursued the UNIX underbelly of OS X I'd find a thing that would get to the heart of a clean reset.
