i'm sort of with you Jonathan, I'm trying to simplify as much as possible.

I unplugged my DirecTV a couple weeks ago, I've had it with the weak 
programming and endless reruns and duplicate programming. At last count 
there were four different (and equally boring, IMO) "pimp my ride" type 
shows on. And not being a sports nut, I was spending more time with less 
channels and it finally started to not make sense.

I'm now catching up on movies and TV shows on DVD through NetFlix. (I 
just wish they'd get the Mac download software worked out.)

If I can get the cable modem installed, I can get rid of my $19 phone 
that costs me nearly $30 a month. I can't disconnect the phone and still 
get DSL. So, in essence, my DSL costs $60 per month since I have to have 
the phone also.

And, as I said, I can't get the speed I want way out here in "the 
boonies" (the Highlands).

And I also decided to move.

Oh well.
