I am waiting for the fiber line to be installed.:)
AT&T is talking about it next year for Louisville.
Cable is having bandwidth issues with HD signals plus the phone and
internet all going into one hose into your home. Fiber is a fat pipe and
is the future really for internet connectivity.

Subject: Re: [MacGroup] Insult Broadband

I myself just switched to Insight from the rag-tag bundle of wires that
I had entering my household before. I had Dish for TV, BellSouth for two
phone lines and Win.net for DSL. I love Win.net, especially for the fact
that all their employees speak English as a first language, but
BellSouth kept them from selling the good stuff. I just couldn't afford
a T1 for $300 a month and that was the only way for me to get faster
service from them.

Insight is at least four times as fast, I get free long distance and all
the channels (pretty much) I had with Dish. But here's the best
part: I pay about $80 less a month than what I had before. We'll see
what their service looks like after a few months, but the installer was
in and out in a jiffy (including a couple trips into my scary
crawl-space), knew exactly what to do and did a great job. There are no
on-screen info options like with Dish, but the channels are almost the
same, the phones sound exactly the same and my internet connection is
wonderful!

All that and less money. What's not to love!?

Well, except that my wife had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the
C-J TV sheet. Hmmm, maybe she'd like TV Guide online...

j.

p.s. and I feel really bad for Win.net, too.
