In my opinion, the most important additions are the ones that would just
make the editor behave like standard Mac editing windows are supposed
to. Being able to select text with shift-arrow combinations would be
right at the top of my list.
I don't think it's worth pursuing fancy things, since the external
("real") editors do the fancy stuff much better. I also don't think
it's a good idea to give the editor any "flavor" like emacs or vi, for
the same reason. The only real UI identity the MacPerl editor has comes
from its Mac associations (Perl certainly has no particular editor
affinities), so I think at the very least the editor should conform to
Mac UI expectations.
Since commenting/uncommenting stuff is so easy in Perl, it might be nice
to have a shortcut key for that too. But I digress. =)
