The apple event overhead should be negligible. The only overhead there
should be is the apple event manager periodically calling the idle
prompt while waiting for MacPerl to finish.
If you can document a case of a script running significantly faster in
MacPerl than it does in say BBEdit, please let me know (me means
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> so they will log it and I will address it, but
you can copy me). If I can tune my idle proc to use less time (it is
already very friendly) I will. If the problem is that MacPerl is being
too friendly in the background, then perhaps your friendly neighborhood
perl porters can fix that.
