I've been following discussions on this.

Have to say I'd avoided upgrading to 3 – as 2 did everything I needed.

I do recognise that software can't be supported continually – there are
costs involved – and profits are needed not only to cover maintenance, but
to fund development

To be honest the cost of upgrading was so small I'm almost ashamed that I
didn't do it before.

Mailplane is a great package. Go for the upgrade and help develop an even
better one!
