We can also say with hindsight that Kautsky’s alternative of of a peaceful parliamentary takeover of power and transformation of the capitalist system by a social democratic workers’ party has also, as the old expression goes, come a cropper. The resurgence of interest in Kautsky significantly occurred during the rise of the Corbyn and Sanders insurgencies before they fizzled out.
