Good evening Sartesian.
No not fossilised, but maybe scotomic-blind spot viewpoint... I am not quite
sure yet....
So:

Not at all disagreeing that " the soviets were the most highly developed form
of a  united front organization."
That accent is surely then, falling upon these words: "the most highly
developed form".

Some queries then:
i) Are there "less developed" forms? What are they and who do they embrace?
ii) If we are talking of an anti-fascist united front, are there other groups
(hesitate to use the word ' class ' here since basically many categories are
objectively - working class) of anti-fascist other than.
proletarian-labouring-working class people? Such as for example office workers,
nurses, etc etc.
iii) Is a socialist consciousness an all or nothing thing?
iv) Isn't it best to have the *widest possible* front against fascism? If so
does that not mean perforce - that it must include non-socialist consciousness
but democratic anti-fascists? For e.g. What was Dietrich Boenhoffer - someone
to unite with or not?

Be well, H
