Peltiers are like these little blocks that you run a current through and one
side gets hot and the other cold. I dont fully understand the internals but
each side is a ceramic plate and the insides consist of P and N type
conductors. You run a current across these conductors and the electrons move
to one surface and away from the other.
You can pretty much use them any where except you have to get rid of the
heat fast enough or else the cold side may get hotter than the hot side!
Dont know if its a cheaper alternative than the mini fridge tho.
