I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN MY 510 WITH A 5 SPEED ONLY STOCK 510sss 4 SPEED.

But i do have a 5 speed thats the same ratio as the 4 speed ,that will be
going init,,where 5th is .86 overdrive.

I allways found it good till over 8000-10000Rpm in 1,2,3 gears..I used a rev
counter that goes up to 10 ,I found that once I got it to 10 and push it
further the rev counter would shag around..

I never found it to lose torque but ,,the carbs and dizzy are also far from
stock Just seamed to run out of gas in fourth gear..

Malcolm
