I started with a diesel rabbit but it was just too smelly, noisy, slow and
ugly for me. So I sold it and have a line on a '98 3cyl Metro.  I may chase
down the "Metro XFI" components which are 2 ring pistons, special cam, and
special gearing, and maybe computer (still learning).  There are web sites
with people getting 70+ with these but I suspect they are in very flat
areas.

 

What car did you decide on and what other types did u consider? Gas or
diesel?

Start with a car that gets 50+ and start making improvements to it. Getting
the base car will take a little time. They are getting hard to find...
