He didn’t pay takes on his income, his trust fund, which is what he lived
on. What did it matter to him how much taxes he and his other Senators
charged for taxes since it really never affected his life since his life wasn’
t financed from his salary.
And BTW, Jerry you start showing your true colors as you start in with not
only the GREEDY thing but now your into the RICH Republican attack too. I
never mentioned Republican or Democrat I mentioned politician and income.
So now we are down to the fault that it is the Greedy Rich Republicans
that are at fault. Like no Rich Democrat has ever raised a tax on you????

To my knowledge, mostly EVERY Congress person of any party (independents
included) has managed to somehow add to the tax burden.
That's what they do! They have to fund programs, don't they?
When you mention a Kennedy you also imply Democrat. There is no way
around that.
Here's a paradox for you - If Joe Kennedy Sr had NOT been a money-grubbing
cheapskate (rumor only), his children would not have been so embarrassed
by his wealth, and they may never have realized how inequitable society was,
so they may not have been inclined to fight for the poor and downtrodden.

Ted K paid his taxes on money earned. If you disagree with the tax laws
that allows rich people to keep huge sums tax free, why do complain about
taxing the rich? Your arguments are convoluted, certainly not easily
understood. Understand this: No one actually WANTS to pay taxes.
Not you, Not me, Not anyone, anywhere.
There have been NO "Let's Pay Tax" celebrations of any kind that I can
recall...
However, everything has a price, and the price of having people function in
government and having a government provide services must be paid,
otherwise government will not exist, so we contribute to the funding of
government
and we do it for the common good. In the old days, before taxation, the
wealthy people who ran the government tried to do it during their Free Time,
at their own expense.
That approach did not last long... Taxes are not going away.

As to True Colors, I'm Red, White & Blue, Through 'n Through. I'm liberal
because I believe in Freedom, a Quality that conservatives are always
trying to take away. I also believe in responsible government spending,
something we never saw during the Bush years, and which has plummeted us into
this economic mess that so many insist is just a recession. I believe that we
DO OWE each of us Respect as human beings, whether we are or are not
citizens. I also believe that we should contribute to the common good and to
the upkeep of this nation. ...And I believe that there are gross inequalities
in our society, and I believe we should work to resolve them. This doesn't
mean taking away the incentives to become successful, but it does mean
working to spread success across the entire population.

Put it this way: If I witnessed your auto accident, I would not hesitate
to use MY bandages to stop your bleeding. Not because I'd gain anything
from it or have the option to send you a bill, but because you needed those
bandages to survive.
