This morning, I woke up (at 6:30am, which is about 1 1/4 hours
before my alarm goes off) to a headache that made me run to the toilet
to throw up. I felt like absolute shit, but I told myself that today
was going to be a good day and I took a few tablets to kill the
headache and tried to get back to sleep before the alarm went off.
When it did, the headache was almost gone (still had a stiff neck) and
I was bound and determined NOT to let that get me down today. So far,
the day's gone pretty well, but it started with trying to maintain a
positive attitude in the midst of events that were not that positive.
How ever it works, it seems to work. I suppose it may have a lot to
do with the REAL power of faith. That surity that one feels when one
believes something to the level that they KNOW it to be true. Whether
or not it IS true doesn't matter to the individual who's convinced.
The same holds for the belief in God. There are those of us who are
convinced beyond ALL doubt that God exists and there are those who are
convinced beyond all doubt that God does not exist. Neither of them
KNOW anything, rather, they BELIEVE completely and their belief
becomes a guiding truth for them. Whereas the veracity of one's
belief is not as important to the believer as the strength of the
belief itself. And that holds true for theists and atheists alike.
