I am really saddened in this area as I think scientific advancement is directly related to the advancement of society.
In our world today the emphasis is on greed -- out right greed and often times you hear the opera singers warming up 'me, me me me me meeeee' and this self centered attitude does not make for a progressive world. I watch people turning to their beliefs to justify their actions. It leaves me wondering if the word christian will be equated with thief.
