I always think of Numbers 31 when people start to defend religion and dig deep into historic paper as though this could ever be proof of anything these days. Moses is a vile war criminal in N31, but people jump to his rescue saying 'he was just a child of his time'. The ethnic cleansing of N31 is still with us and vile creatures like Moses too. I might have been him, born in those times, or Hitler. I'd like to believe I'm too pathetic to have been either - we should think better of pathetic men and women. The Philistines and Barbarians were often better civilised than the bastard societies that beat them and recorded history in their drunken, flattering songs of victory. I suspect Pat is right on the 'history' of the prophet's marriage (or one of them) and also that such was commonplace (it still is). The argument of the wife coming to his bedchamber reeks of what paedophiles say. I'm as disgusted as Chris by "religion", but we need to remember propaganda is everywhere is this particular world because they can't have anything else. The Koran is as vile or as enlightening as the Bible, full of tales of torturing Jews (who have their own literature of similar). All us regs know this shit and shouldn't be wasting our breath on it, though I can see why Pat was tempted to the correction. What I find interesting about the Minarets is that most still think PC in talking about it. Somehow we can't have people voting on what they want because this will be undignified. What is undignified about saying no to the middle ages? The smell of Malinovski talking in public of the 'Argonauts of the Pacific' whilst scratching 'the niggers are noisy tonight' in the margin is about, as is that ever present pontification of middle class elitists who don't have to live with the problems. What kind of dummy thinks we don't interfere with 'religious freedom' - what chance of 'respect' for my own beliefs as a Lord of Somnambulist Bliss? Or the 'Paedophile Ganga Freaks'? What chance of me not being arrested for being a nuisance practising the necessary rituals of car door opening and banging at 3 a.m. before getting intimate with a goat's head as my religion demands? We already interfere with religions everyday. Amazingly, some think their religions are more rational than those I hint at here. We are so feeble we can't even discuss what 'no Minarets here' is about.
