Not completely isolated, but, in a practical sense, most are.

In my experience (and my daughter home schooled her four until she
realized it was doing them a disservice) home schooling exists because
parents aren't so much interested in doing something FOR the kids as
they are in attempting to keep them from being exposed to ...
whatever.

The gatherings for sports, special subject education, social
interaction, etc, are always with other like-minded families.

Apostasy is encountered only by accident.
