perhaps a feeling, which I differentiate from emotion. I see emotion as the complex feeling that includes memory of experience where the feeling was included before, and projection of experience that could possibly draw this feeling. The feeling itself, for me, does not need to include associative emotions. And feeling can be included in appreciation and partriotism and love. But the emotions of pride and shame, I think, always associate with past experience.
