Interesting that the apparition that you describe here and I believe in another thread uses the name Azrael.The translation to this name is literally the one who God helps. In Kabalistic lore this is the name of the angel of death or Malak al-Maut in Islam. Though the name Azrael is not referenced in the Koran it is the same character.
