Is not a soul a coherent field of 'spiritual energy'? I believe that, in this case, the form of energy involved is 'awareness'. Awareness can be expressed differently depending on the physical form to which it is attached. Thus, anything alive is aware, more or less, than other living things. If a 'thing' demonstrates awareness of its environment and reacts to it 'intelligently', then we consider it to be alive. But the awareness that an amoeba can express is not as deep as that of a chicken. And that of the chicken is, seemingly, less than the human. So, the configuration of the physical entity tends to account for the variance between different levels of expression of awareness. We humans are so egotistic as to call our awareness "consciousness" and tend to deny it to other entities we are too stupid with which to be able to comunicate. The bottom line, though, is awareness. I believe that awareness is expressed by a form of energy perhaps best described as 'spiritual'. And the configuration/conformation of the physical entity to which that spiritual entity is bound, affects the expression of that awareness. Sometimes I think we humans rank ourselves too highly in the spiritual pecking order. Dolphins don't have wars. Ants, although they do have wars, are far better socially. One question I have is: Is there a quantum of 'spiritual energy' and, if so, how many does it take to achieve enough coherence (working together) to call a 'soul'? > On Feb 18, 2:02 pm, RP Singh <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > On Fri, Feb 18, 2011 at 7:00 PM, [email protected] > > > <[email protected]> wrote: > > > What is a soul and do other animals have them? > > > > On Feb 17, 6:03 pm, RP Singh <[email protected]> wrote: > > >> Will the goat on the butcher's table survive it's death ?
