The flaps inside the vents are surrounded by foam. With age this foam deteriorates and flys out the vent when the air is blown.

Also, when I turn the air on, little pieces of foam come out of the vents. I'm sure it's not good. Can anyone tell me what that is?

Thanks again,

Steve

What's the normal cost of an AC "Checkup"? I have a leak somewhere and need it patched as well as having my AC re-charged. Also, what is the "conversion" that I read people doing themselves? I think I'm mechanically inclined enough to do this, but need to know realistically how long it takes. (The FL heat is a killer.)

  Thanks,

  Steve
