Dammit, why I am always late with my responses. Guess I should have looked
down the list of emails before I responded.

The flaps inside the vents are surrounded by foam. With age this foam
deteriorates and flys out the vent when the air is blown.

Also, when I turn the air on, little pieces of foam come out of the vents.
I'm sure it's not good. Can anyone tell me what that is?
Thanks again,
Steve

Subject: AC Questions
What's the normal cost of an AC "Checkup"? I have a leak somewhere and
need it patched as well as having my AC re-charged. Also, what is the
"conversion" that I read people doing themselves? I think I'm mechanically
inclined enough to do this, but need to know realistically how long it
takes. (The FL heat is a killer.)
Thanks,
Steve
