depends on the patch, i suppose ;)

okay - interesting.
have you tried using strace to check what the apache process is doing? it cant 
give the full details, but may help to pinpoint the culprit. i dont have time 
to test this here, right now, but i may look into doing so tonight.

does the delay disappear, if you leave out suexec?
