On a side note ...
Has anyone thought about the lurkers on MOPO?
I would venture that one of the lurkers may be an exec with eBay, who, upon
reviewing the past threads on MOPO regarding high shipping fees ... realized
that there may be some serious untapped revenue ...
Soooo .... be careful on your next w(h)ine party
BTW ... it's a joke, son, it's a joke (with apologies to Foghorn Leghorn)

I
haven't done a full comparative analysis of their new fees versus their current
fees but it appears to me that they are reducing most of the final value % fees
by about one percent but are now basing that final value fee on the gross sales
amount including postage. I guess you've got to calculate whether or not that's
going to better or worse for you depending on your average shipping cost. I
might also point out that for 2011, Ebay through PayPal will be sending out
1099s for your gross sales inclusive of shipping if you have 200
transactions in excess of $20,000 in total.

Subject: [MOPO] eBay's
  new fee structure

Well, I just found a link to eBay's new fee
structure. It is true that they will be charging a fee on postage. They
are attempting to rationalise this extraordinary greed by saying that the
"New
  fees reward low shipping".

I would be interested to hear what other sellers
think about all of this. Are there any benefits in maintaining an eBay
  store?
